Environmental Philosophy
Under the slogan "A better environment for the next generation," we will proactively engage in environmental conservation activities, aiming to achieve harmony between economic development and an environment in which we can live in harmony with nature.
Environmental Objectives and Targets
The issue of global warming is one of the most important environmental problems that affects the very foundation of human existence, given the magnitude and severity of its expected impact.
Current global emissions are more than twice the amount absorbed by the natural world, and the average global temperature at the end of this century is expected to rise between 1.8°C and 4.0°C compared to 1980 to 1999.
Since obtaining ISO 14001 environmental management system certification in May 2001, we have been actively working on global environmental protection with the participation of all employees.
The Global Environmental Protection Committee, established in 1992, is furthered by five subcommittees, each of which sets annual targets for energy and resource conservation, resource conservation I and II, environmentally friendly products, and environmental improvements, with the aim of creating a recycling-oriented society.

Environmental Conservation Activities
We are developing internal initiatives for global warming prevention, pollution prevention, resource conservation, waste reduction and proper management of chemical substances, mainly through special committees.
In order to further improve the effectiveness of these efforts, all employees are actively involved in these activities.

We are working to reduce CO2 emissions, mainly through energy-saving activities.

2.Pollution Prevention Measures
We have established our own standards, which are stricter than the legal standards for water quality, air quality, noise and vibration, bad odors, and other factors, and we periodically measure them in an effort to ensure proper management.

3.Resource Conservation
We are working from the stage of product design and development, such as downsizing and sharing the number of parts, to save resources.

4.Waste Reduction
We try to reuse and recycle waste by separating it appropriately.
In addition, we are striving for proper management of the waste generated through the use of electronic manifests and confirmation of disposal sites. -
5.Proper Management of Chemical Substances
We use SDSs to check the impact of the chemical substances we handle on the environment and human health, and handle them appropriately while complying with the relevant laws and regulations.

Information Security Policy
JTEKT Group Information Security Policy
The JTEKT Group appropriately handles all information, including information assets entrusted to us by our customers, in accordance with the corporate code of conduct established to achieve our mission, including responding to evolving threats (risks).In addition, we will supply safe products by taking information security measures at all stages of the product development, manufacturing, shipping and other processes.
In order to gain the trust of all stakeholders and meet their expectations, we will systematically work to improve and strengthen the level of information security in conjunction with the Global Conduct Guidelines, which serve as specific guidelines.
Furthermore, we are working to improve information security level by deploying security guidelines based on our policies to domestic and overseas group companies and business partners.
1.Compliance with the Act
We will comply with the laws and regulations, guidelines and norms established by each country.We will always be conscious of compliance with laws and regulations, and will prevent improper acquisition of information, false reports and cover-ups.
2.Promotion System
As part of our global risk management, we will promote a system that recognizes information security risks and establishes and operates an implementation plan for measures to prevent the occurrence of those risks.
3.Information Security Management
（1）We will prevent the development of information security risks in the handling of information, plants, facilities and products.
（2）We will periodically check our information asset management system and handling mechanisms, and continuously improve and review them.
（3）We will continue to provide all employees with education and awareness about information security.
